3. Pricing & Quotations
All prices displayed on our website are starting rates and are exclusive of VAT. VAT is charged at the prevailing rate and will be shown on your invoice. A confirmed total price — inclusive of labour, parts, and VAT — is always agreed with the customer before any work begins. No work will proceed without this agreement.
- Website prices are indicative starting points only. The final price depends on the nature of the job, the lock type, parts required, and the time of attendance
- No call-out fees are charged for attending your property
- All pricing is discussed and confirmed transparently by the attending engineer before work commences
- Customers are under no obligation to proceed once a quote has been given and may decline without charge at that stage
An Assessment & Travel Fee is payable where an engineer has been dispatched and the customer subsequently cancels or declines to proceed. The applicable fee will be communicated at the time of booking. This fee covers the engineer’s time, travel, and vehicle costs already incurred.
4. Bookings & Cancellations
Bookings are accepted by telephone or email. By requesting a callout you are entering into a service agreement governed by these terms.
- You may cancel at no charge at any time before the engineer has been dispatched
- Once an engineer has been dispatched, an Assessment & Travel Fee applies to cover costs already incurred
- Response times given at the time of booking are estimates only. As a 24-hour emergency service, attendance times may be affected by traffic, geographic location, engineer availability, and overall demand. Estimated times are provided in good faith and do not constitute a contractual guarantee
- We will communicate expected arrival times and notify customers of any significant delays where possible
- We reserve the right to cancel or reassign a booking due to operational circumstances; in such cases the customer will be notified promptly and no charge will apply
5. Payment
Payment is due upon satisfactory completion of the agreed work, unless otherwise arranged in writing prior to attendance.
- We accept: cash, all major credit and debit cards, and bank transfer
- A VAT invoice is issued for all services upon request
- No upfront deposit is required for standard residential callouts
- For larger commercial or multi-site contracts, separate payment terms may be agreed in writing in advance
6. Guarantee & Warranty
All work carried out by our engineers is covered by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship, subject to the following conditions:
- The warranty covers defects in materials supplied and work carried out by our engineers
- The warranty does not apply to damage resulting from misuse, attempted unauthorised entry, abnormal wear and tear, or circumstances outside our control
- Parts or materials supplied by the customer and fitted by our engineer are not covered by our warranty
- To make a warranty claim, please contact us with your invoice reference within the 12-month period. We will assess and, where valid, rectify the issue at no additional charge
7. Your Responsibilities
By requesting our services, you confirm that:
- You are the legal owner, authorised tenant, or hold explicit permission from the property owner to request locksmith services at that address
- You will provide accurate and complete information about the property and the nature of the issue
- You or an authorised representative will be available at the property when the engineer arrives
- You will not use our services to gain access to any property without lawful authority to do so
8. Limitation of Liability
We carry full public liability insurance and our engineers are trained to minimise any risk to property. The following limitations apply:
- Gaining access may in some cases require methods that result in minor damage to a lock cylinder or door hardware. The engineer will always explain available options and obtain agreement before using any destructive method
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage, structural weaknesses, or defects in doors, frames, or locks present prior to our attendance
- Our total liability in connection with any service shall not exceed the total amount paid for that service
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, economic, or incidental losses arising from our services or any delay in providing them
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable UK law
9. Nature of Emergency Services
Locksmith-Cheap.co.uk operates as a 24-hour emergency response service. Customers should be aware of the following characteristics of emergency locksmith services before booking:
- Response times are estimates based on typical conditions and nearest available engineer. They are not guaranteed and may vary due to traffic, location, weather, or demand at the time of the call
- Pricing shown on the website represents starting rates only, exclusive of VAT. The confirmed price is given by the engineer on site after assessing the specific job. Complexity, lock type, and parts required all affect the final cost
- Entry method — while non-destructive entry is achieved in the majority of cases, certain lock types and door configurations may require an alternative approach. This is always discussed and agreed before proceeding
- Parts availability — engineers carry a comprehensive range of standard parts. Non-standard, specialist, or uncommon parts may need to be ordered, requiring a follow-up visit at no additional call-out charge
- Outcome — the result of any locksmith attendance is subject to the physical condition and type of the existing hardware. We cannot guarantee a specific outcome for every situation, particularly where locks or doors are aged, previously damaged, or non-standard
- Customer expectations — customers are encouraged to ask questions and raise any concerns with the engineer before work begins. Once a price has been agreed and work has commenced, the agreed charge applies in full
